XperienCentral R42

We are constantly working to improve XperienCentral and are excited to present XperienCentral Release 42. It is the first in a series of releases focusing on user experience, hybrid features, and lifecycle management.

Release overview

XperienCentral Release 42, the latest installment in ongoing improvements, focuses on enhancing user experience, introducing hybrid features, and refining lifecycle management. The release addresses bugs from the previous version, delivering a more reliable and streamlined user experience.

New Login Page Design

The login page has received a refreshing makeover. The functionality remains intact, but this design update provides a glimpse of what's to come as we enhance and refine the XC user experience.

Dependency Upgrades

This release includes upgrades to various core dependencies. Some of the key upgrades include Spring 5, SOLR 9, Javax Servlet 4, and HTTP Components Library 5. Additionally, numerous other dependencies have been updated. These upgrades are part of our ambition to build a cutting-edge CMS with up-to-date and optimized components.

Other Improvements and Bug Fixes

We addressed some minor bugs found in the new features of Advanced Search and Layouts introduced in Release 41. These improvements enhance the usability and reliability of these functionalities, providing a smoother experience for all users. This release also includes a series of other improvements and bug fixes.

  • Some configuration options for modular content properties had no effect and have been removed.
  • Minified JavaScript of IAF.
  • We changed labels available for gender in the Web Users panel.
  • Exporting a form with an error results in a partial zip file.
  • Media pages in content overviews may not reflect the correct publication status.
  • Publication status is no longer displayed in Advanced Search.
  • Content incorrectly imported from another channel within the same installation.
  • An external link with an onClick attribute freezes the editing environment.
  • Layout with the '1 line flat' mode does not work as the first element on a new page.
  • Page metadata template could be added without being checked.
  • Checking 'new window' in the Link Behaviors panel does not open the link in a new window.
  • Imported modular content templates are inactive and not required.
  • Selecting an item without an existing language version in the Site Structure tree does not work properly.
  • Selected items are not synchronized when switching between views in Advanced Search.
  • Sorting in Advanced Search behaves unpredictably.
  • Certain combinations of CSP settings can make XC inaccessible.
  • Content from the wrong layout is used when switching layouts on a page with multiple layouts.
  • Layout loop fields disappear when defining a new layout.
  • The focal point of images is not imported.
  • Only the first buttons in IAF handlers work.
  • A 404 error is displayed with pop-up link behavior.
  • Modular content image properties cannot be reset to an empty value.
  • Removed item are still shown in the selection of a Content Overview.
  • The redirect target is displayed in the wrong language.
