XperienCentral R51

March 18, 2026

Release 51 (R51) marks a significant milestone for the XperienCentral editorial environment. While every update brings technical improvements, this release is all about you—the person behind the screen. We have completely redesigned the interface to create a modern, consistent, and distraction-free workspace that allows you to focus entirely on what matters most: creating great content.

What's new in R51

A Modern Desk for Your Digital Work

Think of this update as a complete office renovation. The walls have a fresh coat of paint, the furniture is more ergonomic, and everything is exactly where you’d expect it to be.

  • Easy on the eyes: With a new color palette and updated typography, the interface feels much calmer. It might seem like a small detail, but it significantly reduces eye strain during a long workday.

  • The Inline Editor: Writing feels more natural thanks to a cleaner, more modern text display. No distractions, just you and your message.

  • Consistency everywhere: Whether you’re opening an image properties dialog or performing an advanced search, everything now looks and feels the same. This consistency gives you more control and confidence in the tool.

Smart Workflow Improvements

R50 delivers faster load times and reduced network load. Large content items now load 10–20% faster, and network requests for content have decreased by approximately 15%. These improvements ensure smoother editing experiences, particularly for complex content structures.

Beyond the "fresh coat of paint," R51 introduces several functional tweaks that make your life easier:

Toolbars that stay put

There’s nothing more frustrating than a formatting bar disappearing when you rearrange your screen. In R51, the Richtext toolbar remains fully visible and accessible, even when you undock the sidebars. Your tools are always within reach.

Better Media Overviews

Do you work with a lot of images and downloads? You’ll now see more detailed and consistent information for your files. No more guessing, just the facts at a glance.

Track your content

The "Used In" widget has become smarter. It now shows exactly which page sections refer to your content, helping you avoid accidental deletions of items that are still active elsewhere.

Step by Step Towards Digital Accessibility

With this update, we didn’t just look at aesthetics; we looked at the future. We are working hard to create an environment that is fully digitally accessible for everyone.

While R51 is a major step forward, we aren't at the finish line yet. This new design serves as a vital foundation. By improving contrasts, clarifying buttons, and streamlining the structure, we’ve made XC more inclusive. We are committed to this journey so that our platform remains a great place to work for every single editor.

Squashing the Small Annoyances

We’ve listened to your feedback regarding daily hiccups. Here are a few key fixes:

  • Mac Users: Your familiar cmd+c and cmd+v shortcuts are back in action across all browsers.

  • Revisions: Browsing and opening previous versions of your work is now seamless once again.

  • Cancel really means cancel: If you accidentally change something in an element’s properties, the "Cancel" button now works exactly as it should—your changes won't be saved, and your original work remains untouched.

Conclusion

Release 51 may be an "aesthetic" update, but it’s one that fundamentally changes how you experience your work. A modern, consistent environment leads to fewer errors and more joy in the publishing process.
